“Neighborhood sandwich shop” Potbelly has announced the latest revamp to its loyalty program, Potbelly Perks. 

Customers will now receive virtual coins vs. points for their purchases (existing Perk’s members’ points will be converted into coins). The chain has also lowered the redemption threshold to 200 coins, enabling customer to earn their Perks more quickly. Members can redeem their Perks for menu items including sides, cookies, shakes, fountain drinks, in addition to entrées. Customers earn 10 coins for every $1 spent, but the higher the member level, the more coins earned per menu dollar. Levels include Rookie, Pro and Boss.

"The reimagined Perks loyalty program puts Potbelly fans in greater control of their rewards. Previously our fans had to wait until they had enough points to earn a reward for a free entrée. Now they can earn a reward in as little as one or two visits and have access to the entire menu," said David Daniels, CMO at Potbelly.

Perks members also receive special offers throughout the year, including 2x coin days and a free cookie or dream bar on their birthday.

An updated app and website also launch this week with a redesign.
