KFC International Best Seller 'The Chizza' Lands At U.S. Stores

It’s not pizza It’s not chicken. It’s both. Today KFC announced the arrival of the Chizza to its U.S. stores after its reported success overseas.

Available beginning Feb. 26 for a limited time, the Chizza consists of two Extra Crispy fried chicken filets topped with marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese and pepperoni.

To launch the pizza/chicken hybrid, the chain is turning its store on East 14 Street in New York City into a “Chizzeria,” where New Yorkers can try the Chizza first for free Feb. 23-Feb. 24, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. EST.

"Fried chicken and pizza collaborated to create something even better – the Chizza," said Nick Chavez, CMO KFC U.S. "The fan-favorite mashup is available in the U.S. after making its way around the world – try it while you can!"

An upcoming online ad campaign will feature social media creator GrannysOffHerRocker -- who is known for her larger-than-life snarky personality and classic Italian cooking videos with -- to promote the Chizza.
