Subway has premiered a limited time-only portable “Sidekick Safe” to house its recently launched and heavily promoted Sidekick footlong snacks – Footlong Cookie, Cinnabon Footlong Churro and Auntie Anne’s Footlong Pretzel.

The promotional 39-inch safes are designed to keep the customer’s Sidekick snack “warm and safe from hungry eyes,” according to a release. “The Sidekick Safe features three compartments to hold each of the three Sidekicks, a keypad combination padlock, interior insulation and a long satchel strap for easy snacking on the go.”

The safes originally appeared at the Super Bowl, “to help fans protect these coveted new menu items,” according to the brand. The new give-away version has been revised for the promotion.

With a scant 100 safes made, they are only available if customers visit SubwaySidekickSafe.com between Feb. 29 and Mar. 2, and upload a photo of themselves with a Footlong Sidekick. The chain will randomly select 100 winners. 

Since the sweet and salty snacks’ debut, Subway has sold over nine million Footlong Sidekicks, “as demand has outpaced supply, especially for the Subway Footlong Cookie,” said the brand.
