Just Salad, Sesame Workshop Extend Collab To Reusable Character Bowls

Pretty sure Oscar the Grouch would hate this idea. Less trash.

Just Salad announced this week that the chain has partnered with Sesame Workshop on a new line of colorful Sesame Street-themed reusable bowls, now available nationwide.

Adult customers can indulge their inner kid and choose from either Elmo, Cookie Monster or Oscar colorful bowls for their meal, as a part of Just Salad’s Reusable Bowl Program, which “provides lifetime rewards to guests who opt for reusables over single use (bowls),” according to the announcement. The program requires the purchase of a Just Salad Reusable Bowl and, when making a new purchase with their own bowl, customers receive a free salad topping.

Kids aren’t left out of the bowl promo. The chain is working on a rollout of smaller-sized kids bowls featuring Elmo at select locations. Just Salad plans a launch of character-pattern reusable bowls for both adults and children in April.

"This collaboration is all about making health and sustainability fun, and we hope these bowls will evoke happy memories for guests feeling nostalgic for their days spent with Elmo, Cookie Monster and Oscar," said Nick Kenner, founder and CEO of Just Salad, in a release.

The new bowls follow on the heels of the chain’s collaboration with Sesame Workshop on the new Just Salad’ Kids Menu, which includes meals inspired by fan-favorite characters from the show.

"At 'Sesame Street,' we know that fresh, healthy foods help build strong bodies and minds," said Gabriela Arenas, senior vice president, global product licensing, Sesame Workshop. "That's why we're so pleased to team up with Just Salad to … encourage(e) healthy habits for life."

Sesame Workshop is the global impact nonprofit behind “Sesame Street.”
