Assembly Taps Initiative's Cortizo-Burgess For Global Strategy Role

 

Assembly has appointed Pele Cortizo-Burgess as the agency's global chief strategy officer, a new role at the Stagwell-owned agency.  

Based in New York, Cortizo-Burgess will report to global CEO Rick Acampora and serve on the agency's global leadership team.

Cortizo-Burgess joins Assembly from Interpublic Group media agency Initiative, where he was chief strategy officer and later chief culture and inclusion officer. 

Earlier he served at MEC, Saatchi & Saatchi, Chiat\Day, St Luke's, and Grey NY. 

Acampora stated, "Our vision is to deliver true brand performance by creating connected omni experiences that make client's brand perform and Pele's skill set, dynamism, and history of delivering outcomes make him an invaluable asset.”  

Cortizo-Burgess previously worked with brands such as PlayStation, Citibank, Tiffany & Co., and Nike. 

The agency noted that Tom Manning, formerly global head of consultancy, will be moving into a global head of strategy role, reporting to Cortizo-Burgess.
