U.S. DOJ Drops Clear Channel Antitrust Investigations

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has closed two investigations of Clear Channel for possible antitrust violations, with no further action to be taken, according to the contents of a regulatory filing released by Clear Channel on Friday. The DOJ had been investigating a possible antitrust violation in one Clear Channel radio market, as well as allegations that Clear Channel had made use of its airtime and concert venues dependent on also patronizing its live entertainment promotion business, in violation of antitrust law.
