The Atlantic Monthly led consumer magazines named
finalists by the
American Society of Magazine Editors for its 2006 National Magazine Awards, the 40th anniversary of the prestigious competition recognizing the best of American magazine journalism and art direction.
The judging committee identified three consistent emerging themes in magazine editorial coverage: health care, the war in Iraq/war on terrorism, and global warming. -- Joe Mandese
