Moseley Leaves Hallmark For History Channel

Former Hallmark Channel CMO Chris Moseley has joined the History Channel to head branding initiatives for the flagship network and its related ventures.

As senior vice president of marketing, Moseley will report to History's executive vice president and general manager Nancy Dubuc and oversee initiatives from print and outdoor advertising to on-air promos. In addition to the well-known channel, which reaches 93 million homes, Moseley's role covers History International, History Channel en español and Military History Channel, as well as history.com.

Moseley's TV credentials are substantial.

Most recently, Moseley headed an eponymous marketing firm, where she worked with clients such as Lexus. Before that, she spent six years at the Hallmark Channel, holding the CMO and executive vice president-worldwide marketing and brand strategy roles. She helped launch the network when it was re-branded from the Odyssey Channel in August 2001.

Also, she clocked 10 years at Discovery, where she was senior vice president-marketing and worked on the launch of TLC and Animal Planet.

The History Channel, with a principal target of men 25-to-54, has a twofold vision: to lower its median age and move away from the image of a network with wall-to-wall military documentaries.

We want to dimensionalize history and bring a sense of variety and excitement to the way we tell stories--and make history relevant," Dubuc said on the eve of the channel's pre-upfront announcement of new programming.
