  • August 6, 2007
Electronic Arts has inked a multi-year deal with FIBA (Fédération Internationale de Basketball), the world governing body for basketball, that lets the marketer create a FIBA World Championship video game. The company already makes NBA Live.

The company says the '08 version, which ships in October, will feature eight international teams, including 2006 World Championship winners Spain, runners-up Greece and USA, as well as France, Germany, Italy, Argentina and China.

The company says that, per NPD Group, the NBA Live 2007 game was the #1-selling basketball game in 2006.
