A report from Gimme Credit LLC says if Gannett, the nation's largest newspaper publisher, spun off its TV business, the impact would be "minimal." Newspapers make up almost 90% of the company's
revenues. "Since the fortunes of the newspaper segment appear to be getting worse as opposed to better, we believe Gannett will be forced to make strategic moves regarding its business structure,"
wrote Dave Novosel, senior analyst at GC, who has a sell recommendation on Gannett.
