Cooking Light Expands to TV

  • June 2, 2003
Food and fitness title Cooking Light has partnered with PBS to contribute content to an upcoming television series, The Wine Show With Karen MacNeil. The series, slated to debut in the summer of 2004, is designed as an "entertaining antidote to wine anxiety," according to a company press release. MacNeil, a wine columnist for Cooking Light and author of The Wine Bible, plans to pass along practical tips on wine selection and consumption for an audience of wine novices. Each episode (13 half-hour shows are planned) will focus on real people in real-life situations, according to MacNeil. "Wine is the world's most captivating beverage, and yet many people feel unnecessarily intimidated," she said in the press release. "The Wine Show will dispel the myths and do the same thing for wine that Cooking Light has done for food." Each episode will be based around a particular event or festivals in the U.S. Proposed venues include a Texas barbecue and a Napa Valley wedding.
