Champion Begins New Advertising Campaign

Champion Athleticwear is launching a new advertising campaign titled Greed vs. Love. The campaign, which will include broadcast and cable TV plus national print placements, is designed to highlight the heritage of the Champion brand and the emotional connection. The campaign was created by Publicis in Mid America Dallas. "Greed vs. Love is about the love of sport, not the quest for big money. It communicates that true champions put their hearts into everything they do. They play because they want to, not because they have to," said Ted Barton, president/creative of Publicis in Mid America Dallas. New creative executions for TV include a series of 15- and 30-second spots that incorporate performance shots of active men and women with the tag line, "Be Your Own Champion." Network and cable placements began Tuesday. The print campaign breaks in July and will feature individual ads for Champion Running, two new fleece categories and other new products.
