Game Show Network Plans New Saturday Night Programming in Fall

  • June 6, 2003
Game Show Network announced Friday its Saturday night programming in the fall. The programming, called GSN's Games Across America, will include short-form programs that will border the network's regular programming on Saturday nights and will include reports from various game events across the continent. GSN, which reaches more than 51 million homes, is searching for a studio host and a traveling correspondent to cover events such as offbeat annual races, board game contests with eccentric fans, underwater games and other events. Games Across America will air during the three-hour primetime-programming block from 9 p.m. to midnight. The short-form programs will be interspersed between National Lampoon's Funny Money, Greed and Cram. It will also be pitched to ad buyers for several promotional opportunities, including automotive, fast food, packaged goods and beverage companies, and product placement.

"As we broaden our programming scope beyond studio game shows, our high-rated Saturdays provide the perfect opportunity to showcase amazing contests from around the continent. We can hardly wait to give our viewers a peek at the bizarre games people play," said GSN President/CEO Rich Cronin.
