Between March 2 and April 8, T.G.I. Friday's is offering 10 of its best-selling entrées at a special price of $9.99. That represents a 29% price reduction on some entrées.

Customers can purchase soup or salad for $1.99 with one of the promotionally priced entrées.

In addition, the 730,000 members of TGIF's "Give Me More Stripes" loyalty progam have been emailed a coupon for a free appetizer or dessert (up to $8) with the purchase of any entrée during March.

Last week, competitor Outback Steakhouse announced a new, ongoing menu featuring 15 meals priced at between $9.99 and $15.

The 10 entrees included in the TGIF promotion are bruschetta chicken pasta, prime rib Stroganoff, cajun shrimp & chicken pasta, sizzling chicken & shrimp, pepper-crusted pork chop, chipotle steak sandwich, flat iron, petite sirloin and Jack Daniel's chicken.--Karlene Lukovitz
