San Diego, Calif.-based fast-food chain Jack in the Box is redesigning its Web site for the first time since 2002. The quick-serve chain's new site focuses on menu and features "Jack" the restaurant's
namesake.
Visitors are greeted by Jack, who points out a few features on the site and then invites guests to visit his virtual office, which offers a variety of interactive
functions that allow him to travel beyond the limits of the site. Visitors can have the character send personalized phone calls or e-mail messages on their behalf, such as having Jack call in sick for
them or call to ask a special someone out on a date.
Outside of Jack's "office," site visitors can watch the chain's TV commercials, purchase "Jack Ca$h" cards and view menu and nutritional
information.--Karl Greenberg
