PennMedia, one of the Internet's largest email newsletter advertising networks, has offered five presidential candidates the opportunity to place a campaign message - free of charge - in its
newsletters and reach 10 million of the network's subscribers.
"As this important election approaches, we at PennMedia wanted to use the power of e-mail marketing to help voters better understand
the key issues," said Beverly Chang, Director of Corporate Communications for PennMedia.
"With more than 92% of Internet users utilizing email, we believe that email is the best online medium for
'getting the word out,'" she said. "And with our daily subscriber reach nearing 50 million, we recognized that we are in a position in which we could make a difference by heightening awareness of the
critical issues now facing our country."
The offer to distribute a campaign message within some of PennMedia's popular newsletters, all of which are delivered via e-mail, was extended to the
campaigns for presidential candidates Harry Browne, Pat Buchanan, George W. Bush, Al Gore and Ralph Nader.

The campaigns that express interest in reaching out to voters in this manner will be
asked to provide PennMedia with a 50-word message that includes a link to the campaign's website. The campaigns can use their message to invite subscribers to their respective websites, address a
specific issue, ask for feedback or even sign up subscribers for the candidate's email newsletter.
For each participant, PennMedia will insert the message in 10 million outgoing emails, which
feature the content that has been specifically requested by the subscriber. PennMedia will insert these special campaign messages in email newsletters distributed during the month of October.
