Sunday's NASCAR race in Las Vegas got a 6.5 rating and 15 share on Fox, up 63% from last year, when the race was televised by ABC. The rating was higher than every NASCAR race last year except for the
Daytona 500, the sport's top event. Among men 18-34, the rating more than doubled from a 2.6 to a 5.3, Nielsen Media Research said Thursday. This season's average rating of 7.8/18 for three events is
up 39% from last year's 5.6/15. The rating is percentage of television households in the United States tuned to a broadcast, and the share is the percentage watching a telecast among those television
households with sets on at the time. Each ratings points represents 1,022,000 homes.
