Patience Wheatcroft has been tapped as editor in chief of
The Wall Street Journal's European operations based in London, reports Dow Jones. Wheatcroft resigned as a Barclays PLC director as
part of her hiring. Previously, she was editor of the U.K.'s
Sunday Telegraph from 2006 to 2007, and before that served as business and city editor of
The Times for nearly a decade. The
WSJ and
The Times are owned by News Corp.
