Time Warner Inc.'s pay cable channel HBO has not been hit by economic woes, says its co-president Richard Plepler at the Television Critics Assn. press tour. The company's strong DVD sales and
subscriber numbers lead the network to believe it can endure the financial climate, reports the
Los Angeles Times. HBO has about 30 million subscribers and is beefing up its online presence
with HBO Go, a re-branded broadband offering. The service, which is being tested in 5,000 Comcast homes, will offer 650 hours of HBO content. Consumers must already be HBO subscribers.
