Walt Disney Internet Group, and ABC, will expand their online entertainment and news content beginning this September. The re-launched ABC.com will provide news and entertainment that more closely
reflects, and is integrated with, the ABC Network and its programming, leveraging other Disney properties to cover the entertainment and celebrity worlds. Walt Disney Internet Group, which currently
operates the Mr.Showbiz and Wall of Sound entertainment sites, plans to incorporate those sites' entertainment content under the new ABC site. It also intends to fully leverage its recent 50 percent
purchase of US Weekly Magazine by including entertainment news from the magazine online. In addition, ABCNEWS.com content, and Enhanced Television, will have an expanded presence on ABC.com, sharing
backend services such as engineering and operations.
