TV Ads Coming To Web

  • May 9, 2001
Who said that TV commercials weren't appropriate for the Internet? Amicada, Inc. and Fuel North America are proving that sentiment wrong. The two companies have signed a deal which will allow Fuel NA to place existing television advertising on the Web using Amicada's proprietary PACS(TM) technology, in full-screen, full-motion TV-quality format. This follows Amicada's recent agreements with Unilever, to place a number of their advertisements, and with Blink.com as a Platform Partner, to distribute the commercials.

Under the agreement, Fuel NA will use media space on Amicada's online advertising system, delivering commercials originally produced for television by several of their major advertising clients. Amicada's technology offers consumers TV-quality content, both online and offline, irrespective of the bandwidth of their Internet connections. Fuel will evaluate the efficacy of the technology, measure user acceptance and understand the long-term opportunities for their clients. - Anya Khait
