Lightningcast Gets $5 Mil Jolt

Lightningcast, Inc. on Wednesday received a $5 million round of financing from new investors Global Internet Ventures and New Markets Growth Fund. The company, which builds software for broadband advertising, also received support from existing investors Nokia Venture Partners and Redleaf Group. Lightningcast says its technology enables owners and distributors of broadband audio and video to provide seamless content and ad insertion; stream customization and localization; campaign management and reporting; targeting and auditing; and audience measurement and analytics. Time Warner's America Online and Viacom's MTV are among the media companies using Lightningcast's technology.
