In what would mark its first TV project, Dimension Films is developing a drama based on the online game "Dark Age of Camelot."

The TV series is being developed with an eye toward a fall 2002 launch in broadcast syndication.

"Camelot," a multiplayer online game from Mythic Entertainment, will launch on the Web in the fall. The action takes place after the death of King Arthur, whose kingdom has splintered into three factions. Online players assume one of many roles and engage in battles. Upcoming website will be found at http://www.darkageofcamelot.com.

The television drama will take place in the years before the formation of King Arthur's Round Table, focusing on the exploits of young Arthur, Guinevere, Lancelot, Merlin and the enchantress Morgana.

Dimension, the genre arm of Disney's Miramax Films unit, will support the game's online bow with cross-promotional marketing campaigns riding the coattails of upcoming Dimension product and the video release of its recent box office smash "Spy Kids."
