Online advertising revenue in the U.S. fell 5.4% in the third quarter from a year ago. Here's some hope: Revenue was up 1.7% from the second quarter, the first sequential increase since late 2008,
the industry trade group Interactive Advertising Bureau said in a report prepared by PriceWaterHouseCoopers LLP.
In the third quarter, online ad revenue totaled $5.5 billion, down from
$5.84 billion a year ago and a substantial decline from the peak of $6.1 billion in the fourth quarter of 2008. But it's up from the second quarter's $5.43 billion.
