Now that the holidays are over, Jupiter Media Metrix is resuming their Week on the Web report. According to their findings, after a decline in Internet usage during the final week of 2001, the first
week of the New Year saw traffic return to pre-Christmas levels. The number of average daily unique visitors for the last-minute holiday-shopping week ending Dec. 23, 2001 was 51.3 million. JMM says
average daily visitors slipped 12% to 44.9 million the following week (ending Dec. 30, 2001), but then promptly climbed 13% to 50.7 million (for the week ending Jan. 6, 2002).
