Winstar Interactive Media Acquired by Interep Interactive Inc.

Interep Interactive Inc. announced today that it has agreed to acquire Winstar Interactive Media a leading Web property representation company, from Winstar Communications, Inc. The acquisition is expected to close in the next month. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Interep Interactive is a division of Interep National Radio Sales, an independent sales and marketing company. Winstar Interactive Media (WIM), generates advertising sales, creates sponsorship and content syndication packages, and facilitates business partnership programs, for a select list of 18 branded Web publishers including Fodors.com, uBid, Kiplinger.com, Entrepreneur.com and Office.com.

Based in New York, WIM will operate as an independent subsidiary of Interep Interactive. John Durham, a Senior Vice President of Winstar Communications, will become President of Winstar Interactive Media splitting his time between New York and the firm’s San Francisco office. Winstar Interactive Media will retain its current staff of 18 media representatives operating out of offices in New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Atlanta, Austin, Los Angeles, Dallas and Chicago. David Baird, and Tim Moynihan, will each become a Vice President, Sales for WIM.

Interep Interactive also operates Perfect Circle Media, a rep firm for online financial sites. Additionally, Interep Interactive has an interest in BURST!, an ad network serving over 1.5 billion ad impressions a month over small single-topic websites; Annuity, a company that produces local promotions for radio websites; and has a majority interest in Cybereps, a rep firm specializing in ad sales, marketing, and streaming media sales for some content sites and networks including MP3.com, eMarketer, Brand Era, Nua, marketing sherpa.com, adsGuide, and AutoWorld.com. Cybereps also publishes The Future Games Network and Totalwoman.com, two prominent vertical content networks.
