To fight its flagship's circulation decline, Gannett has a new outlet for its
USA Today: Starbucks. The national newspaper will now be sold at approximately 6,500 Starbucks Corp.'s
company-operated stores across the United States. Currently, Starbucks sells
The New York Times and a local newspaper at each of its stores.
USA Today has a total average
daily print circulation of nearly 1.9 million; it has been the top newspaper in the U.S for several years. But its popularity hasn't stopped Gannett's economic woes. Last year, the company's
publishing cir fell 4%, while publishing advertising revenue declined 28%.
