A Pop-Up Banner?

The Gator Corp. has announced the trial release of its new advertising vehicle: the Companion Pop-up Banner. Now for the first time, Gator's permission-based 8.0 million users will see targeted advertising delivered by a Companion Pop-up Banner window that will occasionally pop up to deliver an ad floating over the standard banner location on web pages. By delivering messages selected based on users' web surfing behavior, Gator claims its behavioral marketing engine can inject relevance and effectiveness into all types of online advertising -- including the beleaguered banner ad.
