Top 50 Internet Radio Stations For July

The MeasureCast Top 50 streaming radio stations ranking for July was led by Internet-only broadcasters MEDIAmazing.com, London-based Virgin Radio, ESPNRadio.com.

Forty-five stations in the July ranking also appeared on June's Top 50 list. Of those comparable stations, 24 saw increases in estimated audience size (or CUME), while 31 stations recorded increases in the total number of hours streamed, or total time spent listening (TTSL). Together, the 45 comparable stations for June and July streamed 9% more hours in July (5.027 million hours) than they did in June (4.617 million hours). The comparable Internet-only stations streamed 3.8% fewer hours in July (2.835 million hours) than they did in June (2.949 million hours), while the comparable terrestrial stations streamed 31% more hours in July (2.192 million hours) than they did in June (1.689 million hours).

Internet-only stations claimed 27 of the top 50 spots, one more than in June. Only eight of the top 25 stations for the month were terrestrial stations: WFXZ-FM (#7); WHUR-FM (#10); WBLS-FM (#13); KCRW-FM (18); WKIE-FM (#19); KDYA-AM (#21); KKNG-FM (#22); WKXB-FM (#25).

Religious broadcasters were among the stations that enjoyed significant increases in TTSL last month, moving them into July's Top 50. The Word in Praise leaped from the 109th spot to 50 in July. The Fish/KFISH-FM 95.9 FM in Anaheim, California jumped from 82 to 49, and Christian Pirate Radio went from 80 to 48.
