Internet publisher CNET Networks has pulled the plug on the weekly "News.com" television show it first aired on the CNBC network in 1999. And, from now on, the company said Thursday, future video
production from the company will most likely be viewed online.
Shelby Bonnie, the company's chairman and CEO, said in a press release that ending its TV production efforts was part of a move to
focus on content "most closely aligned" with CNET's growth plans. He said that means broadband video and audio content.
CNET said it would also continue to offer audio-only technology news content
to traditional-broadcast radio stations, adding that current customers include Radio AM 910 in San Francisco/San Jose and XM Satellite Radio.
