"It Floats" and "99 44/100% Pure," two of the most recognizable slogans in advertising history, will became a permanent part of the Smithsonian at an 11 a.m. donation ceremony today. Ivory Soap
donated historic materials reflecting more than 120 years of advertising campaigns to the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, Behring Center. An accompanying display showcases
highlights of the Ivory advertising materials dating back to 1882, including the first Ivory baby, various campaigns throughout the 20th century, and rare artifacts. The display opened today and will
continue until Dec. 31 outside of the museum's Archives Center.
