weather.com, the website of The Weather Channel, has joined forces with RealNetworksRealOne, a source for consumers to discover, play and manage brand-name digital programming. Launched today to the
consumer public, RealOne is the streamlined integration of the playback, download and management functions of RealPlayer and RealJukebox combined with a media browser and content discovery window, and
united with a significantly enhanced subscription service. As a content partner to RealOne, weather.com is able to offer national and regional forecasts as well as local forecasts for a number of U.S.
cities. weather.com will also have the ability to target ads directly to its Channel within the RealOne player, and even more specifically to the area of the country that a consumer is concentrating
upon as he/she looks for a video weather update. Advertisers have three different opportunities to advertise within the weather.com Channel: placement of an embedded banner within the RealOne media
browser, broadcast of a five to ten second streaming commercial at the beginning of each weather video targeted to a specific city, as well as the ability to run a 30-second spot at the end of each
video.
