The Internet's Big 3 - America Online, Microsoft Corp. and Yahoo! - today are expected to announce an alliance that will link their separate instant messaging services for use in the workplace, the
first step toward a seamless instant messaging marketplace. According to published reports, the new system will be based on new Microsoft network software that will serve as the hub for connecting
messaging systems operated independently by AOL, Yahoo! and Microsoft's MSN service.
