New York Observer readers will notice a redesign Sept. 9: new look, columns and tag line. What remains is its noted salmon color. "Money, Power and the City" will replace the previous tagline:
"New York's Weekly Newspaper" beneath the paper's masthead. The redesign was led by the newspaper's art director Nancy Butkus in tandem with designer Robert Priest, whose Priest + Grace design firm
consulted on the project. The paper's lead story will now begin on the front page, and a number of new features will be introduced, including: "The Back Story," a visual treatment of the week's news;
"The Player," a weekly rotating profile; and" The O List", the paper's take on what or who is interesting in New York. "Culture" and "Op-Ed" also have been recast.
