Increased October Traffic at NYTimes

The New York Times Company reported today that for the month of October, year-over-year traffic increased at the two websites of New York Times Digital, its Internet division. Page views rose 99.8% at NYTimes.com and 73.2% at Boston.com in October. NYTimes.com recorded nearly 325 million page views in October as compared with 351 million in September, and averaged 1.16 million unique visitors per day. Boston.com's page views remained high at 85 million, and visits increased to 10.7 million from 10.5 million visits in September. Time spent per visitor continues to increase at NYTimes.com, rising to 29.7 minutes per visitor/month in October from 26.8 minutes in September. NYTimes.com now ranks 36th on the Web for time spent. Boston.com continues to increase its reach in the local market, rising to 26.4% from 23.8% in September. National home/work reach decreased to 8.3% at NYTimes.com and 1.9% at Boston.com, from 9.3 and 2.1 in September, respectively.
