U.S. Suburban Press (USSPI) has expanded the capabilities of its newspaper network with the addition of proprietary software that will streamline operations and increase effectiveness. The Schaumburg,
Ill.-based newspaper advertising sales organization, a subsidiary of Alternate Marketing Networks, said it has launched the Strategic Media Advertising Rate and Targets (SMART) System, a software
package that will allow it to eliminate the third-party handling of contracts and orders, streamline its ad placement process and improve customer service. The package has been customized for the
needs of USSPI, which handles national ad placements in its network of more than 1,300 suburban newspapers across the United States.
