Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani announced last week the launch of three new public service announcements as part of the City's “New York Miracle” campaign. The campaign, which was unveiled last month at a
press conference at City Hall, is designed to celebrate the spirit of New Yorkers and help drive tourism to the City during the key holiday season. It was created pro bono by the ad agency BBDO New
York.
Starring in the three new spots will be television personality Al Roker, actor Christopher Walken, and singer and actress Vanessa Williams. These celebrities join an impressive list of
notable New Yorkers who have already appeared in this campaign including: Woody Allen, Kevin Bacon, Yogi Berra, Billy Crystal, Robert DeNiro, Henry Kissinger, Ben Stiller and Barbara Walters.
Since the campaign debuted last month, more than $2 million in donated media time has been committed from leading broadcast and cable networks such as NBC, CNBC, MSNBC, CBS, Comedy Central, Discovery
Communications, E! and USA. More recently, the MSG Network has also agreed to run these spots.
The campaign is expected to air through the end of the year.
