Newsweek Raises Ad Rate

Newsweek's national advertising rates will increase 4.77 percent in 2003, Worldwide Publisher Gregory J. Osberg announced today. New one-time national ad rates become effective with the Jan. 13, 2003 issue (on newsstands Monday, Jan. 6). The new rates are $191,500 for a four-color page and $123,095 for a black & white page. Newsweek's U.S. circulation rate base remains 3.1 million. Its current U.S. circulation is 3,248,097, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulation first-half 2002. U.S. readership is 20,413,000 total adults, according to Mediamark Research Inc. Newsweek is owned by The Washington Co, which last week predicted conservative estimates fro ad growth across its properties.
