For the first time in Yahoo! history, the front page of the Web's top destination is getting "taken over" by a single entertainment advertiser. Four days before its theatrical release, Universal's THE HULK is mounting a page-altering event, taking over every bit of available advertising real estate on the front page. The HULK "takeover" is one of many major studio campaigns looking to the portal to get moviegoers in theater seats this summer. HULK ads will appear on every virtually page of Movies.Yahoo.com. on June 16 and 17. Throughout the next two days, Yahoo-bred HULK ads will also appear throughout the Yahoo! network including such popular sites as Yahoo! Games, Yahoo! Launch, Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo! Sports. According to a recent NRG in-theater survey, 40% of all ticket-buyers first heard or saw ONLINE content for the movies they chose to see -- and most of those ticket-buyers saw the content on Yahoo! The HULK's front page-altering event, complete with trailers, local showtimes and cast photos, is part of a long-term deal between Universal and Yahoo! to help build awareness, disseminate information and influence the moviegoing decision process.
