In a holiday of mostly repeats and decreased ratings all around, CBS won the latest round of Nielsen numbers for the week ended Dec. 29.
CBS received a 6.4 rating and a 12 share, compared to NBC's
5.3 rating and 10 share and ABC's 5.1 rating and 9 share in total households. Fox followed with a 4.3 rating and 8 share, with The WB and UPN tied with 1.8 ratings and 3 shares and Pax trailing with a
0.8 rating and a 1 share.
Seven of the top 10 shows were repeats, including two repeats of CSI in the top 3 and a football game and an ABC pregame and a Fox postgame show rounding out the top 10.
In adults 18-49, NBC led a tight pack with a 3 rating and 9 share with ABC's 2.9 rating and 9 share and CBS and Fox both coming in with 2.8 ratings and 9 shares. CBS led in adults 25-54, with a 3.5
rating and 10 share, followed by NBC with a 3.4 rating and 9 share, ABC with a 3.2 rating and a 9 share and Fox's 2.9 rating and 8 share.
In total households, CBS leads by several ratings points
with an 8.3 rating and a 14 share. NBC, which leads in younger demographics, so far has a 7.9 rating and a 13 share. ABC is in third place with a 6.3 rating and 10 share. Fox followed with a 5.7
rating and a 9 share. All networks are down in total viewers compared to a year ago season-to-date, with the exception of The WB.
