American Media Inc., publisher of the
Star, National Enquirer, and
Shape, has acquired the U.S. edition of
OK magazine from U.K. publisher Northern & Shell, reports

The U.S. edition of the weekly, with a circulation of some 800,000, launched in 2005.
Star and
OK combined now reach 1.7
readers, behind
US Weekly's 2 million and
People's 3.6 million in the battle of the celebrity weeklies.
