American Media Gets OK To Go With Star

American Media Inc., publisher of the Star, National Enquirer, and Shape, has acquired the U.S. edition of OK magazine from U.K. publisher Northern & Shell, reports Russell Adams in The Wall Street Journal.

The U.S. edition of the weekly, with a circulation of some 800,000, launched in 2005. Star and OK combined now reach 1.7 readers, behind US Weekly's 2 million and People's 3.6 million in the battle of the celebrity weeklies.
