Lifetime Picks Up Two New Series

  • May 1, 2003
Lifetime Television has picked up two new primetime drama series, 1-800 Missing and Wild Card. Both will premiere in August.

1-800 Missing is produced by Lions State Television and stars Gloria Ruben, an actress known for her work on ER. It centers on a no-nonsense FBI agent and a psychic who team up to find missing persons. Wild Card, from Fireworks Entertainment, stars Joely Fischer and focuses on a former blackjack dealer turned insurance fraud investigator. Both will launch a new night of original programming.

"We are very excited about the launch of these two great dramas and expect both to build on Lifetime's wonderful track record with our original drama series. Gloria brings tremendous depth to her character in 1-800 Missing and we believe the intrinsic mystery that surrounds the search for missing people will be both compelling and entertaining," said Barbara Fisher, EVP/entertainment at Lifetime Television. "Wild Card mixes Joely's natural charisma with elements of comedy and drama to create a show that's both real and engaging."
