Toronto-based agency holding company MDC Partners continued its expansion into the U.S. marketplace Thursday, announcing the acquisition of a 20 percent stake in Cliff Freeman & Partners, an agency
that handles Turner Broadcasting, Fox Sports and other clients. MDC employs a unique holding company structure of taking only partial states in agencies with strong management teams who continue to
retain their own significant stakes.
