Flameworthy on Fire, Ratings-Wise

The CMT Flameworthy 2003 Video Music Awards set a new ratings record for the network when it aired April 7. More than 8.3 million viewers, many between ages 18-49, saw the live awards show telecast and it became the highest-rated commercial telecast in CMT history among adults 18-49. April 7 was also CMT's most watched day ever among viewers ages 18-49. The festivities, telecast live from downtown Nashville, awarded country music's elite for the year's most outstanding videos. CMT viewers cast more than 3 million votes at CMT's Wb site to select their favorites in the 11 viewer-voted categories. Co-hosted by Pamela Anderson and Toby Keith, the night featured performances by Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow. Alison Krauss & Union Station joined Twain on stage for a performance by Forever and For Always.
