  • February 8, 2012

ABC has sold out the "The 84th Academy Awards" telecast to advertisers. This news comes from Bob Iger, president/chief executive officer of The Walt Disney Company, who spoke during a quarterly earnings call on Tuesday. Media executives say pricing for the big film awards event is now $1.7 million for a 30-second commercial, which is a 2% to 4% price increase over last year's event. "The Academy Awards" is typically the second-highest-rated TV show of the year. Last year, "The 83th Academy Awards" pulled in 37.9 million viewers and scored an 11.8 rating/30 share among 18-49 viewers.
