Another of News Ltd's Australian newspaper groups is to start charging readers of its online content, reports Chris Zappone. Online and mobile phone users will be offered a mix of free and
subscription-only content in what's known in the industry as a "freemium" model.
The Herald Sun will become a single brand across all platforms. The company plans to release pricing
details in the coming weeks.
It joins News Ltd's The Australian in seeking to charge readers for its online and mobile content. The broadsheet's shift to a partial paywall last
October has seen its audience and traffic decline, according to industry data.
