  • April 2, 2003
UPN has scheduled America's Next Top Model, a reality series that follows 10 young women for eight weeks as they try to make it in the world of supermodeling. It'll appear at 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, after the series finale of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The winner will be awarded a grand-prize package featuring the opportunity to receive a Revlon modeling contract and to be managed by Wilhemina Models, in addition to a guaranteed appearance in Marie Claire magazine. Created by supermodel Tyra Banks, America's Next Top Model will feature mentoring by Banks and work with fashion industry gurus. Participants are asked to master cat walks, physical fitness, fashion photo shoots and publicity under the 24-hour-a-day surveillance of the show's cameras.
