Around the Net Helps Consumers Lobby Brands For Changes is launching a U.K.-specific service that provides consumers with a platform to petition brands to make changes to their products and advertising. In the U.S., brands such as Starbucks and Walmart have been targeted by consumer campaigns hoping to encourage a change in corporate behavior. In the U.K., Ryanair was already the target of petitioners after thousands called for it to stop using “sexist” images of scantily clad staff in its advertising. More than 300 such consumer campaigns already started in the U.K. before the launch, a number that is expected to increase.
