Long-time Madison Avenue media research guru Jon Swallen has been named chief research officer of WPP's Kantar Media Intelligence North America unit. He was previously senior vice president-research.
In his new role, Swallen "will lead initiatives into the development of digital methodologies for ad supported online video, social and mobile advertising, as well as spearhead data integration programs and thought leadership efforts in varied industry vertical markets," according to Kantar's announcement.
Congrats on the new job!
That's the smartest move Kantar has made since, well...hiring Jon in the first place. It's well deserved. A brilliant, classy move taken for a brilliant, classy man.
