New York magazine has poached Risa Aronson away from
W Magazine to serve as its advertising director. She replaces Ginger Sutton, who left in July to join Cargo. Aronson, previously
W's advertising manager, spent three years with the publication. Before that, she held ad posts at
Madamoiselle and
Shape and worked as a media planner at J. Walter Thompson and
other New York firms. "Risa is the right person at the right time for this position," said New York publisher Larry Burstein in a press release. "Risa's relationships within the fashion, automotive,
liquor and retail advertising worlds will be invaluable in our ongoing efforts to cultivate and grow New York's advertising base."
